Basal is spanish for “base layer” or “fundamental” – which feels about right. This typeface was pulled from an old bottle circa 1910 and updated just enough to survive modern use. It’s sturdy, stripped back, and works best when you’re building something from the ground up. Basic Latin support with a limited set of accented characters.
